Product Details
The Stool Collection Tubes are designed for stool sample collection and stabilization using a liquid DNA Stabilizer. Samples are easily collected with the spoon integrated to the lid. The DNA Stabilizer causes an inactivation of DNases, the degradation of DNA is efficiently prevented. Bacteria in the sample are pre-lysed, preserving the microorganism titer at the time point of sample collection. Stabilized samples can be stored for 3 months at room temperature.
The Stool Collection Tubes are optimized for extraction using the PSP® Spin Stool DNA Basic Kit. However, other extraction kits such as QIAamp Power Fecal Pro DNA Kit (Qiagen), ZymoBIOMICS™ DNA/RNA Miniprep Kit (Zymo) or NucleoSpin® DNA Stool (Macherey-Nagel) are also compatible with the Stool Collection Tubes. The DNA Stabilizer also is available in a 180 ml bulk bottle format for direct processing of fresh or frozen sample material in combination with the PSP® Spin Stool DNA Basic Kit for stool sample extraction.
